XiVA-tacta provides an intuitive
way of selecting music, by name, from the comfort of your armchair. Utilising
a personal digital assistant (PDA) from Palm or Sony, XiVA-tacta displays

or custom playlist, on a convenient touch-screen remote control.

with the S2000 series of SoundServer allowing the user to access music

Philips Pronto
The XiVA Pronto Programmer uses
a PC to create a file of the media contents of the SoundServer which can
be subsequently uploaded to the Philips Pronto for use as an infrared remote
controller; or manipulated to create a listing of all Albums, Artists,
and Genre information retrieved from the SoundServer. There is no charge
for this application.

XiVA-Producer is a Windows-based
PC application which allows users to connect to any XiVA-based media appliance
on an Ethernet network and edit the contents of the database.

In this first release, XiVA-Producer
allows users to quickly and easily edit album title, artist name, genre
and track titles and delete tracks from XiVA appliances.This application
is the first of a new suite of tools to be launched in the coming months
to further enhance the power of XiVA Hard Disk Media Systems.

Future releases will include:

• Playback Control – tools to control
the music playing on a XiVA appliance in any zone of a multi-room configuration.

• Playlist Management – Create and
edit custom playlists using a simple drag and drop interface.

allows 3rd parties to write comprehensive control applications for Xiva
based products.

The Crestron system is particularly
powerful for controlling the SoundServer as it has a large screen-based
interface so the user can browse through the music database by album, track
or genre and simply select their favourite piece of music. The Crestron
range supports elegant desktop controllers as well as compact wall-mounted
units to fully control the SoundServer in rooms throughout the home.
The new interface is a result
of Imerge’s membership in Crestron’s I2P (Internet Industry Partnership)
programme. Participating dealers can download the software for the interface
from the Crestron website – www.crestron.com.

Xantech

The SoundServer range is now
compatible with the Xantech URC-2. The URC-2 is a cost-effective learning
remote control that can be programmed to control a number of AV devices.
This makes the product ideal for a custom install application where a number
of devices need to be controlled from a remote room with a single controller.

Channel Plus

The S1000 SoundServer TV interface
can be distributed around the house using an RF/IR system such as Channel
Plus. The composite TV output of a SoundServer is plugged into the RF modulator
and control box to create a new TV channel that can be distributed to a
number of TV's using standard RF cabling.
The Channel Plus system also
includes infra-red distribution so that commands from your remote control
can be sent back to the SoundServer through the same RF cabling.
